Maria (name changed) was solicited by an out-of-state car dealership. They promised the purchase would build her credit. She traded in her vehicle. 

But the dealership committed fraud against Maria: 

• They lied about the value of her trade in. 

• They sold the car "on a contingent basis" -- meaning they could back out of their promises. 

• They didn't provide truth-in-lending disclosures. 

• They weren't even licensed in Wisconsin! 

Maria couldn't even legally drive the car she ended up with.
